Greetings from the SWell Team!

What, or who, is the SWell Team? "SWell" stands for Sustaining the Well . . . Jacob's Well. We are a group of Jacob’s Well regulars who are committed to ensuring the financial well being of Jacob's Well. We are strong believers in what God is doing in our community and understand that God's plans for Jacob's Well will continue to require monetary support.

Our mission is to SWELL the WELL!  We are committed to make certain that the “water” in our well, God’s well, is plentiful, swelling with the talents and financial gifts needed to support God’s plans for Jacob’s Well. SWell was also formed to ensure financial transparency, while promoting a means for all of us to make a stronger spiritual connection between what we give and its impact.

Reality @ The Well

Currently our expenses are approximately $5,000- $6000 higher than our monthly income. The Board has made all the budget cuts possible without impacting the vision and plans for Jacob's Well. God, not us, provides for Jacob's Well, but God fills the well through us¾our gifts, talents, and all that we have received in abundance. God would never settle for giving us just enough. Jacob's Well swells with God's blessings and we believe that it is with this abundance that our generosity can make amazing things happen!

SWell Initiatives

We are excited to secure ongoing support for God's plans for Jacob’s Well. Members of SWell give regularly and encourage you to join us.  Investing in Jacob’s Well is an effective way of making a difference with your financial gifts. 

SWell goals for 2011:

• Increase participation in and ease of automated online giving. Like any business, Jacob’s Well has daily expenses.  Automatic giving provides consistent funding which Jacob's Well can rely on.  There are two ways to set up an online donation that we suggest…

1. Set up an Auto-Transfer (or Bill Pay) account on your bank’s website.  This is a free service that banks often provide.  If you plan to set up recurring donations – this is probably the best bet.  GiveMN (our second suggestion) collects a 2.9% processing fee from each donation.
2. Donate online through GiveMN.  Click here to get started. 

• Provide financial transparency.  We will develop new means for informing the community of our progress toward financial stability (regular giving statements, Web content improvements, presentations, videos).

• Share how giving makes a difference. We will help connect you with the ways God uses our giving to make a difference in us and others. (“My stories,” videos, special worship series focused on the spiritual aspects of giving).
