Wanted to share - absolutely LOVE that my 4 1/2 year old daughter made sandwiches for people in need in H2O at Jacob's Well on Sunday! She was very proud and shared what she did with the rest of our family that day.
What an absolutely, positively wonderful thing.
Talk about doing something with great love!
Thank you, GOD.

I can stop malaria...

Here in the United States a lot of people suffer from diseases needlessly, but in other parts of the world often a norm for peoples lives to be dragged down and often ended early because of preventable Illness; diseases that we can actually do something about.

Becoming a Good Samaritan: Stuff to Learn
Submitted by Pastor Greg on Tue, 2010-09-21 18:20If the world needs anything, it's a lot more neighbors and a lot less strangers. It's really one of the easiest transformations there is, because the only thing that has to change is the way we see people. That means the process starts with learning so that we change our thinking, that is the actual meaning of the word usually translated as 'repentance.' It's a pardigm shift.
You are PART OF, not the REASON FOR everything
Submitted by Pastor Greg on Mon, 2010-05-10 22:52On Sunday at Longfellow, and a couple of weeks ago at Field, every one got a little piece of plastic tubing like at the end of the service. I hope you are still carrying yours around. I am. It is a reminder that we are PART OF, not the REASON FOR everything. As such we are not buckets for God’s love, filling ourselves with what we want to have for ourselves, but pipes, conduits, passer-on-ers.
Hurting for the people who died in the fire in Longfellow...
Submitted by Pastor Greg on Sat, 2010-04-03 16:07The fire that claimed 6 lives and has thrown many more into deep and intense pain and loss was just 5 blocks from our worship location in Longfellow. On Good Friday.
It is hard to know how to respond. I pray, but I hope our prayers turn concrete and help in ways that are real and welcome.
Breathing Practice - 3 min by 3 pm
Submitted by Pastor Greg on Thu, 2010-03-25 13:44As part of week 3 of enterTraining Deanna Reiter led us all in a spiritual practice that is as simple as breathing. Watch the video from Sunday linked here to learn how. You can do this anytime during the day for any amount of time to help pull you into full presence in the moment. But aim for one 3 minute period sometime in your day before 3 pm. 3 x 3.
Tips for Trainers

Spiritual Fitness isn't an add-on, it is the integration of your whole self into what really matters. It doesn't happen by accident, but because we take the time and make the effort to do it.
On Sunday I talked about 3 things we all need in our personal regimen to make spiritual growth a reality.
