Group FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why Join a Group @ Jacob's Well?
Crowds on Sundays can be a bit intimidating, and there's not always much time or the opportunity to really get to know anyone before or after the service. Being in a Group @ Jacob's Well connects you with others, it's an opportunity to develop friendships and it's a time to explore faith by sharing stories, having discussions, serving the community and praying together.
What do Groups @ Jacob's Well do?
Groups eat, study, share, pray and serve. You'll relax and enjoy some food...and have great conversations launched around topics that matter. You'll realize that everyone has a story - and that in the telling and listening we grow in understanding our own stories, our world and God. You'll find questions and doubts welcomed and have a chance to wreste with them together. You'll pray with and for each other. You'll get to experience what it's like to serve others, and realize that we have more time to offer people in need, when we make it a priority together.
What exactly are Groups @ Jacob's Well?
They're groups of eight to ten people, who meet once a week at first or about once every two weeks if they continue on. Groups meet in a home, a coffee shop or anywhere comfortable to eat, pray, share and discuss. The groups are co-ed, same gendered, or couples, and they can meet on any day of the week. After the first six weeks, everyone decides to either continue with the same group or to join a new one.
What is a group HOST?
Each group has a HOST who simply:
H = Helps people feel comfortable
O = Opens their home (or arranges for a good spot)
S = Serves a snack
T = Turns on the DVD...and/or turns over great questions to the group to foster discussion
You don't need any special qualifications to be a HOST.
How do I sign up to be in a group?
Sign up here or at Sunday services.
Can I invite a friend or family member who hasn't attended Jacob's Well?
Yes! Think of someone to invite to come along with you! Don't worry if they haven't signed up - just let your group HOST know. Anyone can be part of a Group @ Jacobs's Well.
