Bike/Walk to Work Day, 5/14
I've always thought that riding bike is cool. You may not know this, but the week of May 12 through 18 is Bike/Walk to Work Week. Minneapolis is really pushing this event as a good way to get some exercise and get to know your neighbors. This is a great opportunity to support our community and get the word out about who is Jacob's Well.
They're encouraging people to ride in packs, kind of like a parade I guess:) Here on the corner (48th and Chicago) where iacob's well has it's office, on May 14th, Wednesday, starting at 7am, people are gathering at Turtle Bread for free breakfast and then beginning the trek downtown as a large group. It's going to be quite a spectacle. If you want more information about this event, and ways that you can help out as well, check it out.
Maybe you'll be the one to show up at Turtle Bread at 7am with your bike, ready to go the distance to work. OR, maybe you'll be the one showing up to hand out water bottles to the participants. OR maybe you'll be in the support team, cheering on the riders. I don't know how you'll be involved, but wear your jacob's well t-shirt and bring a smile and a servant's attitude.
Let us at the office know if you're planning on showing up. This is the kind of thing that Jacob's Well does. I'll be riding my bike to work. See you there!

PS. Maybe if we do this right, it will send a message to the oil companies and gas prices will drop...for at least a few days before we have to fill up our cars again:)
