When we gather at the table
No matter who or how many you might gather with at the table this season, it is a great time to say thank you together, reflect and connect with God.
Here are some ideas. Share some of your own here too!
Squeeze prayer: hold hands around the table. Someone start with a simple prayer (not too fancy, just speaking from the heart as best you can) then pass along the prayer by squeezing the next hand. When you get squeezed, you can say a prayer aloud or silently then pass along a squeeze to the next person until it is back to the first one who can close.
Compliments & Appreciations: one person at a time, people give compliments to a person at the table, saying what you appreciate about them. Go around until everyone has recieved some compliments! You can follow this with a prayer:
"Within each individual on this large and complicated world there lives an astonishing potential of greatness. Yet it is rare that these hidden gifts are brought to life unless by chance..." - Velma Wallis. God - thank you for the gifts you've given us, even those we don't know about. Help us see what unrevealed gifts we have to offer the world. We wonder what in us is being called for? Help us see what can we give that we haven't been giving.
